Dr. Karen Briggs MBE is a British Judoka born in 1963 in Kingston Upon Hull. The 4 x World Champion dominated the -48kg category throughout the 1980's.

Her father, Albert, introduced her to Judo when she was 11 and it instantly became her favourite. She loved the thrill of throwing and the fight! At 16 she decided to dedicate herself to judo.
