Kosei Inoue, Japan's triple World and Olympic Champion, is back!
Inoue, who has been out of international judo for nearly three years after spectacularly crashing out of the 2004 Olympic Games, is fighting up a weight at +100kgs here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In this action-packed DVD, exclusively brought to you by Fighting Films, witness whether Inoue is back to his incredible best. But it wont be easy for him. Drawn in the second round is France's latest phenomenon, Teddy Riner, who at just 18 has already won the Junior World Championships and the 2007 European Championships.
Japan are here in force, with reigning World Champions Keiji Suzuki (-100kgs) and Hiroshi Izumi (-90kgs) looking to defend their crowns. Guillaume Elmont (NED) will have a job holding onto his -81kgs title from two years ago. In the same quarter of the draw as him is European bronze medallist Euan Burton (GBR), who will be eager to make the step up to World level. Karina Bryant (GBR), the four times World silver medallist, is out to take the one big medal that continues to elude her. But drawn to fight her in the semi-finals is the 2004 Olympic Champion Maki Tsukada (JPN). Japan's Sae Nakazawa will be out to get revenge on Yurisel Laborde (CUB), who threw her with a one-handed Osoto-gari in the 2005 World final. They are seeded on opposite sides of the draw; will they meet again in the final?
The young sensation in the -70kgs is USA's Ronda Rousey. She will be hoping to reach the final, but will surely have to take out the defending World Champion Edith Bosch (NED) to get there. And at -63kgs are two of the biggest throwers in women's judo. Ayumi Tanimoto (JPN) and Lucie Decosse (FRA) are famous for their big Ippons. Will both of them get to the final to make for a fascinating encounter?
This two hour DVD is filmed in widescreen, with multiple camera angle coverage, numerous replays and remarkable bonus sequences to music. With the best highlights from every category, flashback stories of the big names and extended coverage of the finals, this DVD is a must for every judo enthusiast.
